Vintage or new?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how much I enjoy making vintage looking brass and copper hairpins. I love vintage items often for aesthetic reasons, but also because I know these items have already been on a journey. What I’m really enjoying at the moment is that copper and brass are recycled at the manufacturing stage, as these materials can be reused over and over again without a decrease of quality. What this means is by making brass and copper products by hand, it’s the best of both worlds! You can have your cake and eat it ;) Not only do you get a lovely item that has been made by hand, but you also get the smugness of knowing that you are contributing to sustainability!
