Being mindful

I’ve been talking to Bex from The Mindful Kitchen about our outlook on conscious consuming . Her approach to food is authentic, connecting and very much about being present. There’s so much stimulation in the world that we all often forget to go slowly and appreciate what’s going in our homes, bodies and lives. Although her creative outlet is food, I felt a lot of her passion resonated with my goals. I was inspired to think more confidently in what I’m doing.

I’m torn when it comes to how to organise work in terms of product, project or artwork. I put so much thought in to what I make that I don’t always want to let it go. It doesn’t always end up being finished or on my website. What does end up being a product can be a tough choice because I want it to be perfect: likeable, functional, special, exciting and authentic. Chatting with Bex made me realise how valuable this process is, and that the end goal isn’t a stagnant Done Thing. What I’m doing is creating objects that I truly believe can add value to peoples live and experiences, and it’s a slow burn for good reason.

I’m always surprised at how my mindset can change what I think and what I do, and I’m feeling excited about incorporating some of her values in to other areas of my life.

If you want to have a look at what she’s doing, check her out at www.the-mindful-kitchen.co.uk and hopefully join me in feeling more aligned and confident!
