Copper

I absolutely LOVE copper and the way it tarnishes and changes colour. It’s an amazing material because it’s often recycled, it’s easily recylable and it has so many amazing properties including high thermal conductivity, high electrical conductivity, high malleabilty and it’s naturally antimicrobial. When copper oxidises, it creates a protective layer which makes it corrosion resistant. The patina that forms on copper is a beautiful green and I’m leaving my personal hairpins to change colour by not polishing them!
